Headline: PEAK Center Releases Community Walking Guide
Health experts are urging people of all ages to get more active in
order to maintain healthy weight and prevent a host of illnesses related
to obesity and inactivity. Recognizing this need, The PEAK Center in
Lansdale has published Walking North Penn, a guide to walking trails
in the North Penn and surrounding area, to encourage center participants
and the entire community to explore the over 100 walking paths and
trails included in the book. The guide offers information on trail
length, difficulty level, parking, amenities and more. Walking warm
ups, hiking tips and suggestions for using pedometers make the guide
a complete resource for starting or reenergizing a walking routine.
The PEAK Center has contributed 1,000 free copies of Walking North
Penn to the North Penn School for students who want to add walking
to their fitness plan. The guide is available to the general public
through The PEAK Center and other area outlets at a cost of $5.00.
Center director Amy Cummings-Leight commented that the guide “reflects
The PEAK Center’s commitment to supporting fitness and healthy
lifestyles for community members of all ages.”
Walking North Penn was originally created as part of The PEAK Center’s “YOU
CAN! Steps to Healthier Aging” Program and was funded in part
by generous support from the North Penn Community Health Foundation,
Keeney Printing Group and Clemens Family Markets.
