The North Penn Community Health Foundation Board
of Directors is pleased to announce the award of
eight grants to its supported organizations, totaling
$191,500. All of these grants are aligned with the
Foundation’s funding priorities as indicated.
Grants were provided to:
Helping people with disabilities or chronic diseases
to remain living in their own homes
Advance Lane Training & Employment
Corporation
In support of an expansion of the Partners
in Achieving Total Health program, $25,000 over
one year.
Ken-Crest Centers, Inc.
In support of a collaborative program with
the North Penn and Wissahickon School Districts
to design and implement a transitioning from school
to adult life program, $23,000 over one year.
Promoting access to health and human services
for at-risk populations
The Free Health Clinic of Montgomery
County, Inc.
(aka HealthLink)
In support of the acquisition and implementation
of a patient management and volunteer scheduling
systems, $25,000 over one year.
Promoting the use of volunteers
Retired & Senior Volunteer Program
of Montgomery Co., Inc.
In support of the development of a volunteer
recruitment program in life care communities designed
to increase the number of older volunteers providing
volunteer services in a variety of community settings,
$57,000 over 2 years.
Resources for Human Development, Inc.
(Compeer of Suburban Philadelphia)
In support of a targeted volunteer recruitment
initiative in the Greater North Penn community
to increase the number of volunteers and volunteer
matches to serve people with serious mental illness,
$10,000 over one year.
Promoting wellness and informed decision making
through prevention and education
Bucks County Council on Alcoholism and
Drug Dependence, Inc.
In support of the expansion of Mothers Overcoming
Mood Altering Substances (MOMS) Families in the
Greater North Penn community, $50,000 over two
years.
Strengthening organizational effectiveness and
partnerships
Association of Small Foundations
A matching grant in the amount of $1,000 in
support of programs and activities.
Delaware Valley Grantmakers
In support of scholarships to enable four
small non-profit organizations in the foundation’s
service community to attend the DVG annual meeting
to discuss innovative and creative strategies
for conducting non-profit businesses, $500 outright.
Russell Johnson, Executive Director for the North
Penn Community Health Foundation commented, “These
grants are a beginning effort by the board to support
local health and human services organizations that
aid populations of people in need. These supported
organizations are demonstrating collaboration among
a variety of service providers and innovation in
the ways they seek to respond to the unmet needs
of consumers.”
The North Penn Community Health Foundation identifies,
selects and invests in programs and agencies that
will improve the health, welfare and quality of
life of the community. The Foundation invites inquires
from non-profit organizations seeking to address
unmet community needs and from individuals interested
in supporting the Foundation’s initiatives. |
